He was predeceased by: his wife Margaret Ann Varnado Johnston; and his son Robert Earl Johnston, Jr.. He is survived by: his children, Kathryn J. Davis (Dan), Jeanne C. Johnston, James Edward "Jimmy" Johnston (Deyette "Dee") and Lynn J. King (Pike); his grandchildren, Michelle Johnston Gonzalez (Michael), Matthew R. "Matt" DeVille (Rosie), Elizabeth Johnston Abbott (Joshua), Elise King Norris (Marshall) and Jill Lindsey King; and his great grandchildren, Payton Marie Abbott, Olivia Rose Abbott and Evelyn James Gonzalez.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Friday, November 8th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Seale Funeral Home (1720 S Range Ave, Denham Springs, LA 70726). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 11:00 AM.
