He was predeceased by: his parents, Darrie Lee Slay and Lorene Evelyn Slay; his daughter Laurie Slay; his sisters, Voncille Burch and Carolyn Kohler; his great grandchild Johnny Matthews; his stepson Joshua Brunner; his nephew Joshua O'Hearn; his sister-in-law Kathy Russell; and his niece Melissa Mooney.
He is survived by: his wife Ava Brunner Slay; his sisters, Marie Corbin (Jeff) and Darlene Slay; his brothers-in-law, AJ Burch and Terry Russell; and his nieces and nephews, Johnnie Slay Jr. (Sarah), Kenneth Allen Slay "Buck", Darrie Ernest Slay Sr. (Fiance' Amanda), Trey Hardesty (Jessica) and Sara Hardesty. He is also survived by Grandchildren, & 34 Great Grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Church International (13423 LA-431, St Amant, LA 70774). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
