He was predeceased by: his parents, Tom Steele and Lessie Steele. He is survived by: his wife Lula Compton Steele of LeCompte; his son Dr. Roderick L. Steele, Sr. (Patricia); his grandchildren, Jasmine Steele Edwards (Kedric) and Roderick L. Steele, Jr.; his great grandchildren, Cruze Steele and Jalani Edwards; and his sister Anna Bell Broussard. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
