She was predeceased by: her parents, Rudolph Goschl and Walburga Young; her husband Dr. Joseph R. Gerdes; and her stepson Joseph Gerdes. She is survived by: her children, Beth Bryant (Clayton), Erika Fortenberry and Christopher Gerdes (Irina); her stepchildren, Pamela Adamson, John Gerdes (Sandra), Leslie Laviana (Joe) and Kristin Hyde (Tone); her grandchildren, Brennan Achord (Tori), Caroline Cochran, Kate Cochran, Quinn Gerdes, Max Fortenberry and Emily Fortenberry; her great grandchildren, Adelynn, Brynlee and Caroline; her sisters, Diana Henry and Velina Mais of Overland Park, Kansas.; and her caregivers, Jamie, Wendi, Joyce, Carla and Clarity.
A celebration of life was held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Seale Funeral Home (1720 S Range Ave, Denham Springs, LA 70726).
