Donald B. Woodard Obituary
A resident of Denham Springs, LA, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at Ochsner Health Center - O'Neal in Baton Rouge, LA. He was born February 19, 1941 in Independence, LA and was 83 years of age. He was a Master Florist and was the owner of Sullivan's Florist for over 30 years. To know Don was to love him and he never met a stranger. He is survived by his former wife, Frances Richardson Scallan; 3 daughters, Elizabeth Mayer, Margaret "Marty" Krumholt (Steven), and Donnea Boutwell (Toby); grandchildren, Ivan Buckner, Zane Buckner, Chase Taylor, Marlee Roberts (Erin), Alanna Varnado (Casey), Cantan Varnado (Kenyze), Grayson Boutwell, and Tylan Vance; niece that he considered his daughter, Ann Woodard Caffrey (Tom); great-niece whom he considered a very special friend, Taylor Ridgedell; and many other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lanice Woodard, Sr. and Myrtis Travis Woodard; special friend, William Hatfield; great-grandson, Roman Kelly McCullough; 2 sons-in-law, Dr. Randell Mayer and Roland Kelly Varnado, II; 3 sisters, Lucille Woodard Turner (Bo), Ruby Woodard Smith (Reuben) and Emma Peggy Woodard Goodson; brother, Lanice Woodard, Jr. (Betty). Visitation at New Zion Baptist Church, Kentwood, from 9:00AM until religious services at 11:00AM on Saturday, July 20, 2024. Services conducted by Rev. Larry Blades. Interment New Zion Cemetery, Kentwood, LA. McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood, in charge of arrangements.
