She was predeceased by: her parents, William Butler Atkins and Lela Orelle Sikes Atkins; her husbands, George Ray Canady, Sr. and Louis Robert Reed; and her brothers, Robert Atkins, James Atkins, Henry Atkins and Wilburn Atkins.

She is survived by: her children, Lela Mallett (Kevin), Annie Pitman (Ronald) and George Ray Canady, Jr. (Ennis); her grandchildren, Krystal McBride, Tabitha Aguillard, Courtney Parker, Heather Parker-Dunn, Karen Pitman and Dylan Pitman; and her brothers, Sheldon Atkins (Joanne), David Atkins (Cindy) and Dale Atkins (Nora). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends.
