It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jessie Burgess of Delhi, Louisiana, born in Shreveport, Louisiana, who passed away on August 8, 2023, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Edward C. Burgess; her parents, Jesse Gilbert and Eula Scott Gilbert; her sisters, Velma B. Gilbert and Otha Lee Gilbert Copes; and her brother-in-law Roy Burgess Jr..
She is survived by: her son Edward Keith Burgess Sr. (Brenda) of Delhi, LA; her grandchildren, Edward Keith Burgess Jr. (Randi) and Heather Mariah Ward (Dustin); her great grandchildren, Mariah Crosby, Cutter Ward, Kai Burgess and Carter Burgess; and her sister Evelyn Scott Burgess. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
