She was predeceased by: her parents, James William "Will" Hodge and Jessie Mae Butler Hodge; and the father of her children Hance Vernon "Bill" Norris. She is survived by: her husband George Franklin Slater; her siblings, Marjorie Hodge, Marvin Hodge (Lena), James C. Hodge (Hazel), Voyd "Pete" Hodge and Lonzo "Tenny" Hodge (Georgia); her son Hunter Sexton; her great grandchildren, Lance Berryhill, Gage Berryhill, Thomas Ballard, Wyatt Norris, Faelyn Norris, Waylon Norris, Weston "Wes" Norris and Townes Hale; and her great great grandchildren, Rylan, Easton, Harlan and Adeline Berryhill.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cox Funeral Homes - Delhi Chapel (724 Broadway St, Delhi, LA 71232). A funeral service was held on Sunday, January 19th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
