He was predeceased by: his parents, George Lester Cruse, Sr. and Mary Duke Cruse; his significant other Dorothy Cartlidge Cruse; his son George "Lester" Cruse, III; and the parents of child, Lester and Mary Cruse.
He is survived by: his daughter Marianne Cruse Strong (Jimmy); his grandchildren, Susanne Bembenick (Chris), Lynanne Pennebaker (Todd), J. T. Strong, Jr. (Kasey) of Delhi, George Lester Cruse, IV (Darrell Balentine) of New Orleans and Chelsea Cruse Ross (Hunter) of Delhi; his daughter-in-law Vicki Kemp Cruse (Skye Jones) of Ridgeland, MS; his sister-in-law Ann Cartlidge Roberts of Monroe; his friend Arniece McDowell of Delhi; and also George. He is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Mr. Cruse requested in advance that donations be made to Shriners Hospital for Children in lieu of flowers.
