We are sad to announce that on May 11, 2024, Shirley M. Chouest of Cut Off, Louisiana, born in Golden Meadow, Louisiana passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Menton A. Chouest Jr.; her parents, Clovis Melancon and Veleda Melancon; and her siblings, Alton, Stanley, Joseph, Abel "Blue" Melancon, Annie Dufrene, Regina Hutchinson, Odia Sampey, Thelma Boffone, Leah Trosclair, Velma Volpi and Etta Melancon.

She is survived by: her children, Danny Chouest (Gail), Menton "Bobby" Chouest III (Linda) and Loretto Williams (Stewart); and her caregiver Stella Hebert. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
