He was predeceased by: his wife Janet G. Dantin; his parents, Jack Dantin and Odelia Danos Dantin; his brothers, Roy and Daniel Dantin; and his son-in-law Alan A. Cheramie.

He is survived by: his daughters, Susan Dantin, Tracie Dantin and Polly Dantin Cheramie; his grandchildren, Amy Arceneaux Danos, Annie Terrebonne, Alicia Rebstock, Adam Cheramie, Whitney Cheramie and Desiree Guidry; his great grandchildren, Max Landry, Makalia Torres, Gabriel Terrebonne, Peyton Rebstock, Rosie Rebstock, Alan Cheramie, Landon Brunet, Lucy Brunet and Lincoln Brunet; and his siblings, Johanne D. Hohensee, Josephine Dantin and Harry.
