He was predeceased by: his parents, Katherine Reid and Walter M. Reid; his stepson Samuel K. Hinch; and his grandchildren, James Pearce and Benjamine Pearce.
He is survived by: his wife Marie Vail Reid; his children, Walter Skip Reid (Michelle) of South Carolina and Marlene Kahl (Steven) of Mississippi; his stepdaughters, Kathy Ardoin (Randy) of Lake Charles and Sheila H. Creach (Dwayne L.) of Crowley; and his sisters, Sandra L. Hinch (Kip) of Florida and Amy H. Kumle of Arizona. He is also survived by 8 grand children and 9 great grandchildren.
