He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Ashworth and Sarah Doyle Ashworth; and his siblings, Henry Ashworth, Jr., Frank Adison Ashworth, Albert Mason Ashworth, Edna Lou Cain, Almarine Savant, Brenda McBride and Doris McBride.

He is survived by: his children, Erica Ashworth Auzenne of Rayne and John Anthony (Chonda Ashworth) of Lyons Point; his brothers, Elbert Ashworth and Hylder Gene Ashworth; his grandchildren, Dustin Ashworth, Corey Ashworth, Britni Auzenne and Victoria Auzenne; and his great grandchildren, Zai'ah, Levi, Embirlin and Tristan. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
