He is survived by: his parents, Ruben Avila Nunez and Lilio Julia Alberto; his significant other Nilka Wittgreen; and his siblings, Damiri Lugo Julia, Darita Lugo Julia, Adrian Avila Rodriguez and Doraly Avila Zierra.
