He was predeceased by: his parents, Myrtle Ella Thomas Thigpen and Emmett W. Thigpen; his wife Jeannette Taylor Thigpen; and his brothers, Emmett Glen, Lionel and Billy Thigpen.
He is survived by: his children, Robin Thigpen, Greg Thigpen and Shawn Thigpen (Farah); his grandchildren, Scott Steinhauer (Rebekah), Hannah Steinhauer Carriere (Chase), Meghan Thigpen Houidobre (Jason), Taylor Thigpen and Andrew Thigpen; his great grandchildren, Hadley, Annie, Cecilia Steinhauer, Lucas Carriere, Rhett and Etta Jane Houidobre; and his siblings, Gary Thigpen, Rita Kay Vessier, Linda Gail Simoneaux and Carol Harper.
A graveside service was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Pinecrest Memorial Gardens (2280 W 21st Ave, Covington, LA 70433).
