He was predeceased by: his parents, Prentiss Burnette Nettles Sr. and Ira Damptha Westbrook Nettles; and his sister Alice Nettles of Virginia. He is survived by: his uncle Prentiss; his aunt Rita; his wife Rhetta Nettles; his son Damon Nettles (Sara Henderson); his granddaughter Lena; his daughter Christen Nettles (James Spokes); his granddaughters, Camille and Margaux; and his brother Houston Nettles.
