He is survived by: his wife Patricia Lilliman Nelson; his children, Kim Nelson Noel (Michael), Scott Nelson, Angela Nelson, Rhonda Ancar Caillouet, Edward Nelson (Pamela) and Rachel Nelson Boudreaux; and his sisters, Cindy Nelson Michel and Gail Nelson Comeaux.
