It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Louis Appe in Covington, Louisiana, born in New Orleans, Louisiana, who passed away on February 1, 2023, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Effie Curtis (Edward) and Odette Caroline Appe (Perez); his siblings, Gerald Lloyd Appe, Caroline Appe Sharpe, Jane Appe Millaway and Catherine Appe McCrossen; his half-brother Fredrick Carl Appe; his children, Jason Edward Appe and Katherine "Katy" Appe Pitarro; and his stepdaughters, Noel Bourgeois Gauthier and Jamie Bourgeois Fritcher. He was also cherished by his grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Mr. Appe be made to Youth Services Bureau in Covington, James Samaritan in Covington, Child Advocacy Services in Hammond or Hospice of St. Tammany Parish Hospital.
