He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Irving and Ethel Byers Coyne; his siblings, Jacob Coyne, W. E. Coyne, Eulene Spell (Donald), Joan Sharp (Alvin), Jerry Coyne Sr., Patsy Coyne and Betty Coyne; his brother-in-law Charlie Wolfort; and his granddaughter Jami Knight.
He is survived by: his wife Lenore Coyne (Nora); his children, Penny Crouch (Ken) and Leonard Knight (Ellen); his grandchildren, Cindy Pittman (Dwayne), Cassy Gayman (Matt), Brittany Jackson, Reagan Crouch and Brandi Darensburg; his great grandchildren, Cameron Welch, Savannah Comeaux (Tyler), Alexandra Pittman, Sebastian Garafola, Ava Garafola, Skyla Jackson, Aaliyah Darensburg, Kajah Jackson, Easton Jackson, Akeam Darensburg and Addison Darensburg; his great great grandchildren, Johnathan Comeaux and Brielle Comeaux; his siblings, Mike Coyne (Debbie), Gregory Coyne (Gail), Maryann Wolfort and Dianne Edwards; his sister-in-law Wilidean Coyne; and his nieces, Pam Sharp and Melynda Coyne. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Johnny also spent the last 20 years faithfully donating every month to the St.Jude foundation.
