We are sad to announce that on April 6, 2025, at the age of 68, Javier Zapata of Covington, Louisiana passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father Carlos Roberto Zapata, Sr.; and his granddaughter Makayla Rose Tresch. He is survived by: his wife Derlene Jannell Zapata; his children, Christina Eve "Tina" Zapata Laue (Kevin), Javier Benjamin "Ben" Zapata (Amanda), Amanda Beth Tresch (Simon), Ericka Vanessa Abarca Campos and Carlos Luis Abarca Campos (Wendy); his grandchildren, Magnus Raven Laue Zapata, Olyna Rebekah Zapata, Abram Michael Tresch, Olivia Grace Zapata, Makala Rose Tresch, Javier Caleb Zapata, Penelope Joy Zapata and Madeleine Hope Zapata; his mother Eda America Cordova Zapata; and his siblings, Carlos Roberto Zapata, Jr., Mario Fernando Zapata, Carlos Luis Abarca, Sr. and Patricia Eugenia Campos. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
A wake was held on Wednesday, April 16th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the E. J. Fielding Funeral Home & Cremation Services (2260 W 21st Ave, Covington, LA 70433). Visitation was held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 at 2:45 PM at the Pinecrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery (2280 W 21st Ave, Covington, LA 70433).
