He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd R. Burckel, Sr. and Vera Ducatel Burckel of New Orleans. He is survived by: his wife Virginia Quave Burckel; his children, Merica, Christian, Jonathan (Britteny) and Katie; his grandchildren, Veda, Eva Saladino and Nolarain; his siblings, Janet Craddock (Glenn), David Burckel (Judy), Peggy Nicosia (Steve) and Julie Burckel; and his brother-in-law Lloyd Mehaffey. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the E. J. Fielding Funeral Home & Cremation Services (2260 W 21st Ave, Covington, LA 70433). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Fielding Funeral Home (2260 W 21st Ave, Covington, LA 70433). A burial will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at the Pinecrest Memorial Gardens (2280 W 21st Ave, Covington, LA 70433).
