Drake Austin Kron Obituary

Drake Austin Kron age 27, of Covington passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Madison Parish Hospital. He was born on February 18, 1994 in Marrero, Louisiana. He is preceded in death by his loving mother Christine "Mini" McInerney and his newborn baby sister, Christine. Drake is survived by his siblings Albert Bongard V, and Rylee James, his grandparents Tia and Chris James, grandfather Gary Bruno, his uncle Shane McInerney, his aunts Becky Bruno, Tiffany Bruno and Taylor James and his step-father, Albert Bongard IV.

He is also survived by his father Jason Kron, grandmother, Cathy Kron, and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Drake loved his family. He was a handsome young man, with a sweet genuine heart and a beautiful, infectious smile. Drake's entire life was full of struggles. As a young child, he was close to his mother, and he was the loving and helpful older brother to Albert and Rylee.

At the age of 11, he sadly lost his mother and newborn baby sister. His family came together and tried tirelessly to fill his void. However, Drake suffered in silence, yet never complained, nor asked for anything, nor allowed others to see his true pain. Drake was very outgoing and personable. He was adventurous, and always ready to try something new.

He loved to play sports, especially football, baseball and even gymnastics. He even thrived academically and could easily ace a test, especially in science and social studies, with little to no effort. He was a deep thinker, enjoyed reading ancient history and the Bible, and generated numerous writings. Drake's true passion was in helping his family and others no matter what he was dealing with personally.

His future goals included initiating a non-profit organization to help less fortunate children by learning from his own mistakes and experiences. Even though Drake's entire life was much more challenging than most, he still managed to maintain a virtuous heart, and his beautiful heart and soul will be missed greatly. Due to COVID-19, social distancing is encouraged and masks are required to attend services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Drake may be made to Family Promise of St. Tammany for the new Family Promise Willie Paretti Day Center, 513 Michigan Avenue, Slidell, LA 70458 or at https://www.fpstp.org. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W 21st Ave, Covington, LA 70433 on Monday, September 20, 2021 at 12:00 PM with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM.

Interment will follow the services in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens, 2280 W 21st Ave, Covington, LA 70433. Pallbearers will be Austin Melan, Harrison Bruno, Shane Gonzales, Nathan McHand, Jeff Lindheim and Shane McInerney.
