He was predeceased by: his parents, William Powers and Evelyn Powers. He is survived by: his wife Patricia; his children, Kristin Peterson (Brian) of Covington, Allison Cheatwood (Scott) of Monroe, Matthew Powers of Madison, WI and Tori Powers of Covington; his grandchildren, Hanley Cheatwood, Tanner Peterson, Gavin Smith, Lelia Cheatwood, Kylie Peterson and Marybel Cheatwood; and his siblings, Brenda Barnes, Phyllis Penland and Will Powers, Jr.. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Benedict Catholic Church (20370 Smith Rd, Covington, LA 70435). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at the Saint Joseph Abbey Cemetery (75376 River Rd, St Benedict, LA 70457).
