It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Cynthia Cathcart Ballas (Covington, Louisiana), born in New Orleans, Louisiana, who passed away on November 13, 2024, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Bernard Michell Cathcart and Myrtle Jourdan Cathcart (Sue); and her husband Richard Francis Ballas. She is survived by: her children, Richard Blaine Ballas (Liz) and Kelley Ballas Armstrong (Jim); her stepgrandsons, Jeffrey Brian Montalbano II and Matthew Ryan Montalbano (Hillary); her great grandchild Frederic Van Ballas; and her stepgreat-grandchildren, Nicholas Austin Montalbano, Nathan Alexander Montalbano, Abigail Elizabeth Montalbano, Dahlia Elizabeth Montalbano and Matthew Ryan Montalbano Jr.. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and wonderful lifelong friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 22nd 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the E. J. Fielding Funeral Home & Cremation Services (2260 W 21st Ave, Covington, LA 70433). A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 22nd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the E. J. Fielding Funeral Home (2260 W 21st Ave, Covington, LA 70433). A burial will be held on Friday, November 22nd 2024 at the Pinecrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery (2280 W 21st Ave, Covington, LA 70433).
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Ballas may be made to Alzheimer's Research & Prevention Foundation.
