He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Harold and Ardis Bardwell Fowler. He is survived by: his wife Jennie Kay Fowler; his sister Carol Lee Clements; his sons, David Fowler (Stephanie) and Robert Fowler (Dawn); and his grandchildren, Samantha Fowler Jenkins (Katie) and William Fowler. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren, as well as his nephew, niece, and four great-nephews and nieces.
