She was predeceased by: her husband James Meiners; her parents, Dorothea Russell Simmons and Wallace Leonard Simons, Sr.; and her sister Dorothea Simmons Bennett. She is survived by: her children, Tina Williams (Freddie), Stephanie Phelps and Shelly Meiners (Jennifer); her grandchildren, Brittany, Stephen, Samantha, Christina, Devin and Dylan; her great grandchildren, Bayleigh and Brinley; and her brothers, Russell L. Simmons, Sr. and Wallace L. Simmons, Jr.. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and wonderful lifelong friends.
