He was predeceased by: his parents, Emerson Vaughn and Clifford Vaughn; and his siblings, Catherine, Lowell, Griffin and Cecil, Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Vaughn; his children, Martha Sawyer (Tom), Steve Vaughn (Mary) and Kim Troutman (Randy); and his grandchildren, Shaun Baker, Georganna Nutt, Timothy Sawyer, Kimberly Crigger, David Vaughn, Anna Vaughn, Laura Mayeaux, Mark Worsham, Sarah Jett and Shelby Troutman.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
