It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Douglas Wayne Ates of Coushatta, Louisiana, who passed away on December 16, 2024, at the age of 29, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Judy Slaughter Cardino, Danny Wayne Slaughter and Edward "Bay" Ates. He is survived by: his parents, Sandra Ates (Tommy) and Edward Ates, Jr. (Alicia); his sisters, Chelsea Giddings (James) and Judy Ates; his niece Lesley Taylor; his grandmothers, Barbara Slaughter and Ann Ates; and his aunts and uncles, Chastity Ates, Rachel Ates, Heather Rodgers (Chad), Misty Slaughter, Donna Ates, Gloria Ates, Jonathan Ates and Calvin "C. W." Ates (Alice).
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Rockett-Nettles Funeral Home (233 E Carroll St, Coushatta, LA 71019). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Rockett-Nettles Funeral Home Chapel (233 E Carroll St, Coushatta, LA 71019).
