He was predeceased by: his wife Sharon Tassin; his son William Lyles; and his parents, Joseph Tassin and Olive Tassin. He is survived by: his son Samuel Paul Lyles of Cottonport; his sister Sharon Lemoine (Roderick) of Covington; and his grandchildren, India Lyles and Evangeline Lyles.
