He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Nell Firmin; his parents, Benedict, Sr. Firmin and Jane Firmin (Jolibois); and his siblings, Audrey Guillory, Hollis Firmin, Holcomb Firmin, Nelson Firmin, Charles Firmin, Oswald Firmin, Benedict "Buck" Firmin, Jr. and Harold Firmin.

He is survived by: his children, Carolyn Firmin of Maurice and Terry Firmin of Denham Springs; his brother C. J. Firmin; his granddaughter Melissa Firmin; and his great grandchildren, Lucian Naquin and Amelie Viator.
