She was predeceased by: her son Melvin D. Silas Jr.; and her sister Shirley. She is survived by: her children, John, Michael, Loretta and Joretta; and her siblings, Dorothy, Rose, Anthony (Melinda), Thomas (Donnie) and Charles (Janice). She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a great host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
