She is survived by: her children, Gaynell Nelson, Jaynell Hayes (Kirk, Sr.), Danielle Rodrigue, Alvenia Rodrigue and Marvin Rodrigue; her close friend Keith Claiborne; and her siblings, Mary Louise Nelson, JoAnn Laurent (Taj, Sr.), Pearlet Nelson, Gloria Lee Jackson (Willie), Lisa Hart (Roger), Shelia, Shelita Nelson, Joseph Nelson, Jr. (Carrie), Clyde Nelson (Phyllis) and Burnell Nelson (Katricia). She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, other relatives and friends.
