Martha Lou Simons Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Martha Lou Simons (Columbia, Louisiana), who passed away on February 14, 2025 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Marcus Thornhill and Elsie Thornhill; and her brother Jerry Thornhill. She is survived by: her husband Charles Simons; her sister Carol Canterbury; her nephew Chad Canterbury (Heather); her great-nieces and great-nephews, Peyton and Campbell; and her sisters-in-law, Jane Thornhill, Hazel Derickson (Bert), Karen Simons (Thomas), Linda Martin (Sidney) and Karen Finley (Danny). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM at the First Methodist Church of Columbia (501 Church St, Columbia, LA 71418). A funeral service was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Columbia Hill Cemetery.
