He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Joseph Edward Wilks and Eva Elizabeth Fox Wilks; his wife Myrtis Poole Wilks of Columbia; his children, Duane Wilks (Mitzi), Sheri Wilks Rabb of Natchez, Johnette Wilks of Natchez and Micki Wilks of Alexandria; his brothers, James Wilks (Colleen) of Hebert and Chester Wilks (Betty) of West Monroe; and his grandchildren, Angel Darden, Leslie Compton, Ashly Roberts, Kaci Wilks, Christian Wilks, Laura Nash, Cash Rabb, Nolan Rabb, Amber Hightower, Bobby Mercer, Heather Hightower, Johnathan Wilks and Ashlyn Brittain. He was also cherished by twenty three great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
