He was predeceased by: his father John Dorsey Blackwell, Sr.; his wife Mary Blackwell; and his children, Steve Thomas Blackwell and Phyllis Ann Blackwell. He is survived by: his daughters, Shirley Jean Wall (Norwood) of Downsville and Barbie B. Shipp of Downsville; his daughter-in-law Doris Blackwell of Stonewall, LA; his sisters, Joy Etier Columbia (Carrie), Mackie Duchesne of Columbia and Almie Kelly of Columbia; and his grandsons, Bobby Blackwell, Clint Jemerson, Baron Blackwell, Steven Taylor, Dallas Singleton and Cole Barker. He is also survived by twenty grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
