It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gayle Bassett Dortch of Columbia, Louisiana, who passed away on October 7, 2022, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parent Emril S. "Bud" Bassett; her husband Jimmy Dortch; and her brothers, Robert Bassett, Mike Bassett, Larry Bassett and Billy Bassett.
She is survived by: her mother Carrie Dale Walters Bassett; her children, James Dortch (Tishea), Amy Fletcher (Arthur) and Carla Dortch (Mike); and her siblings, Ricky Bassett (Kelly), Joyce Price (Jerry) and Mary Nell Thompson (Paul). She is also survived by three grandsons, five granddaughters, eight great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
