She was predeceased by: her father Cleveland "Cleve" Barnette; her husband Bill Girod; her son Kenneth Scott Girod; and her parent D'Wan Girod Simmons. She is survived by: her sister Polly Hayes; her children, David Girod (Kenda), Paul Girod, Guy Girod (Mimi), Severan Girod (Tesha), Jeannine McDonald and Kim Longabaugh (Darryl); her niece Sherri Evans (late Iley); her nephew Steve Doffitt (Frieda); and her grandchildren, John Pierre Girod, Brooke Girod, Schannel Smith (Bill), Stacey Thompson, Nikki Valley, Amy Joyce (Chris), Brittney Matthews (Rodney), Steffen Girod (Devan), Gunnar Girod (Alyssa), Samantha Gordon (Cameron), Garrison Steele, Devin Girod (Angelica), Destinee Mayo (Cody), Angel Mayo (Jordy), Micah Duchesne (Hannah), Anthony Duchesne, Brittney Lasalle (Tristan), Garet Longabaugh, Brandon Girod, Tiffany Girod, Christian Girod, Eva Girod, Lydia Girod and Asher Girod. She is also survived by great grandchildren; great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Riser Funeral Homes (7131 US-165, Columbia, LA 71418). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 from 2:15 PM to 2:30 PM at the Old Bethel Cemetery (1469 LA-547, Grayson, LA 71435).
