He was predeceased by: his parents, John M Thomas I and Wilmur Cox Roberson; his grandparents, Willard, Irma Cox, Oliver "Buddy" and Winford Thomas; and his close friend Melanie Gray.
He is survived by: his daughter Savannah Grace Whorton; and his siblings, John M "Mikey" Thomas, II (Renae) of Columbia, Ben Thomas (Cortney) of Marion, Anjiela Rushing (Eric) of Mangham and Candy Cummings (Jason) of Marion. He is also survived by nieces and nephews as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
