With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Obie Ray Lavespere (Colfax, Louisiana), who passed away on January 22, 2023 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Euseb Armos "Timos" Jr., Florestine St. Andre Lavespere, Joe Jim and Carrie Lasyone Stanfield; his parents, A. J. Lavespere Sr. and Kitty Stanfield Lavespere Traylor; and his stepfather Donald "Bump" Traylor.
He is survived by: his wife Theresa Hodnett Lavespere of Bagdad; his children, Cheryl Lavespere (Billy Lutes II) of Colfax and Kevin Lavespere (Becka) of Bagdad; his grandchildren, Emily Lutes Allen (Jared) of LeCompte, Daniel Lavespere of Colfax, Dallas Lavespere of Bagdad, Aimee Lutes Kutej (Dalton) of Lumberton, Austin Lavespere of Bagdad, Tyler Lavespere of Bagdad and Alan Simmons of Bagdad; his great grandchildren, Collin, Cameron Allen, Carter, Cash, Camille, Claire Kutej, Ashton Lavespere, Ellynnton Friend, Jesse and Jayden "BamBam" Goodman; his brothers, Tony Lavespere (Becky) of Nantachie, Mervin Lavespere (Vivian) of Lone Pine, Ed Dale "Skip" Lavespere (Melanie) of O'Quinn Spur and Randy Lavespere of Colfax; his nieces and nephews, Jody Lavespere (Tina), Hope Lavespere, Tony Lavespere III (Emily), Michael Lavespere (Nikki), Jeff Lavespere (Erin), Dewayne "Scooter" Lavespere, Crystal Lavespere of Quinn Lavespere, T. R, Alicia Lavespere Alsup (Daniel) and Amos Lavespere; and his close friend Jeff Teddlie. He is also survived by great nieces, great nephews, extended family, and many, many friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask donations to be made to the Children's Miracle Network or the American Cancer Society in support of Cholangiocarcinoma (Bile Duct and Liver Cancer).
