Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Friday, April 12, 2024, in the chapel of Kramer of Colfax.

James is preceded in death by his son, James Allan Ingram; brother, Malcolm Ingram, Jr.; and parents, Malcolm Ingram, Sr. and Mary Sue Ingram.

James was born on September 1, 1955, in Alexandria, Louisiana. His professional journey was rooted in diligence and customer service. He recently worked as a clerk at the local hardware store, where his commitment to the customer and his integrity to get the job done was obvious in everything he did.

Beyond his professional life, James was a pillar of his community, embodying the spirit of service. He selflessly devoted himself to the Volunteer Fire Department and First Responders for many years as a young adult, responding to calls with courage and compassion, ensuring the safety of his community and neighbors.

His passion for a safe community extended to other endeavors including serving on the Pecan Festival board for many years, even serving as President of the festival in the mid-90's. The year he served as President, he was instrumental in extending the festivities to include Sunday, with the hope that Sunday would be more relaxed and family-focused. His leadership and dedication were instrumental in the success and growth of this beloved local event, bringing joy to countless individuals year after year.

James's commitment to his community was also evident as a volunteer coach of Dixie Youth Sports baseball, as a member of the Colfax Jaycee's and the Lion's Club of Colfax. He was Lion of the Year in 1999 and served as President of the club 2000-2001. He served the children as Park Director of the Lions Club Baseball Park in Colfax for many years.

He also was a member of the Colfax Methodist Church most of his adult life, often participating in the annual Christmas Choir event. James was a devoted husband and father, who provided care to his ailing son for many years prior to his death. He continued to care for his wife until his last day on earth.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 47 years, Sharon Carswell Ingram; daughter, Sallee Ingram Roberts; and two grandchildren, Cade Michael Roberts and Kaityln Elizabeth Roberts. James is also survived by the numerous friends he met throughout his life.

Honorary pallbeares will be: Ronnie Rhodes, Paul Crosby, Mark Jeane, Bill Dean, Albert Dean, George Dean, Tommy Futrell, Alan Futrell, Danny Ray Fuller, Matthew Carswell, Hunter Carswell and Cade Roberts.
