It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Gale Mayo Cornelius (Clarence, Louisiana), born in Bastrop, Louisiana, who passed away on August 22, 2018, at the age of 67, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her mother Zelma Fleming; her stepfather Max Fleming; her grandparents, Dock Mayo, Gladys Mayo and Nellie Chappell; and also, Uncle Ray Crenshaw and Aunt Sis Crenshaw.
She is survived by: her husband Clarence "Butch" Cornelius of Andrews, TX; her sons, Phillip Patterson of Bastrop, LA and Randy Diel of Austin, TX; her siblings, Janett Mayo Young of Hamburg, AR, Brenda Mayo Frisby of Oak Grove, LA, Geraldine Mayo Goodson (Mark Goodson) of Bonita, LA, Bonnie Mayo Sawyer of Bastrop, LA, Sandra Schneider (Greg) of Rockwall, TX, Alvis Mayo of Bastrop, LA, Randy Mayo (Nancy Mayo) of Oak Grove, Charles Fleming of Texas and Doyle Fleming of Texas; her sisters-in-law, Cassandra Savell (Michael) of Andrews, TX, Gina Smith, Carolyn Smith (Keegan), Christopher Smith, Molly Hier (Frank) of Overbrook, KS and Niki Hier; and her sons, Bradyn Hier and Aubrey Hier (Theresa). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Shriners Hospital.
