He was predeceased by: his mother Josephine Duplechain; his wife Mary Duplechain; his parents-in-law, Elton and Clementine Batiste; his daughter Bernita "Kayse" Small; his siblings, Lloyd, Joseph Butler, John, Frank, Lawrence, Floyd, Percy Duplechain, Clovis Duplechain, Flora Belle Guilbeaux (Wilson) and Audrey Willis (Isaac); his siblings-in-law, Enola Johnson, Lucy Duplechain, Marjorie Carriere, Gladyes Carriere, Elton Batiste, Jr., Henry Brooks, Jr. and Joseph Lee Batiste; his sons, John Patrick Duplechain and Joseph Wallace Duplechain; his grandson Byron Meche; and his great grandchildren, Aariya Diamond Duplechain, Amber Duplechain, Tameka Duplechain, Travon Kelly and Stephen Duplechain.
He is survived by: his children, Christine Meche (Elroy) of Church Point, LA, Dorothy Duplechain of Church Point, LA, Darrell Joseph Duplechain (Yvette) of Church Point, LA and Willary "Ray" Duplechain (Nichole) of Church Point, LA; his brother Raymond Duplechain (Julia) of Opelousas, LA; his sister-in-law Margaret LaDay; his son-in-law George Small of Haymarket, Virginia; his grandchildren, Kimberly J. Duplechain, Jason Meche, Kierston Kelly, Gaven Duplechain, Steffon Duplechain, Denetra Calais, Cody Duplechain, Summer Norris, Amber Teklemariam, Baruch, Ishmael, Robbie, Solange Gazawi, Brooke Duplechain, Willary Vonterriss, Quaderriss, Carlos Landry and Tamarcus Chachere; and his great grandchildren, Ariana, Blaise, Ellena, Olivia, Aiden, Ja'Kyron, Davon, Aniree, Kinsley, Rontrae, Elizabeth, Shayley, Steffon, Amerion, Keonna, Sebastion, Galvin, Sevvyn and Dayonna. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, Godchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 from 7:15 AM to 10:00 AM at the Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church (693 N Main St, Church Point, LA 70525). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
