He was loved and cherished by many people including: his mother Jo Ann M. Abshire of Crowley; his siblings, Huey (Elva Abshire) of Rayne and Candice Shive of Kaplan; his grandmother Bernice Abshire of Crowley; his father Newman Abshire, Sr.; and his grandparents, Hilton P. Abshire, L. J. and Jean Vincent. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.
