It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rufus Joseph Fontenot Jr. (Church Point, Louisiana), who passed away on February 13, 2025, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Rufus Joseph Fontenot, Sr. and Frances McBride Fontenot; and his sister Carla Turner. He is survived by: his siblings, Mona Blakeway (Bill) of Slidell, LA, Tina Broussard (Matt) of Lafayette, Reginald Fontenot (Brenda) of Richard, LA and Richard Fontenot (Violy) of Lafayette; his brother-in-law John Turner of Slidell; his nieces and nephews, Andrea Blakeway Imms (Brady) of Kenner, LA, Lezia Broussard Boudreaux (Chris), Lauryn Broussard of Lafayette, Ben Turner (Kendall) of Lakewood, CO and Chris Turner (Rhiana) of Denver, CO; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Cecilia, Stella Imms, William and Johnny Imms.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Guidry Funeral Home (219 N Broadway St, Church Point, LA 70525). A rosary was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 from 12:45 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the same location. A committal service was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
