He was predeceased by: his son-in-law Merville "Butch"; his parents, Paola Joseph Sr. and Ezilda Margaret Charpentier Lyons; his siblings, Paola Lyons, Jr. (Mamie), Richard Lyons (Judy), Burton Lyons, Malcom "Mac" Lyons, Michael "Mike" Lyons, Della Rose Lapeyrouse (Walter) and Wilda "Teetsie" LeBouef (Willis "Bay"); and his siblings-in-law, Errol Picou and Marilee Lyons.
He is survived by: his wife Irene Marie LeCompte Lyons; his children, Timothy J. Lyons (Merita) and Paula L.; his siblings, Julius Lyons, Felica "Fee" Lirette (Wilton, Jr.) and Vera Picou; his sisters-in-law, Joann and Sadie Lyons; and his son Dale P. Lyons (Judy). He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
