He was predeceased by: his grandson Theodore Blanchard; his parents, Viola Trahan Guidry Carrere and Redel Guidry; his stepfather Stelay Carrere; his brothers, Redel Guidry Sr. and Errol Carrere; and his former wife Irene P. Guidry.

He is survived by: his close friend Merline Trahan; his children, Stacey Guidry (Vickie), Shanna Battise (Robert), Harris and Nicholas Guidry (Erika); his stepdaughters, Tabatha Gutierrez (Jesus) and Melissa Henry (Eldren); and his brothers, Larry Guidry (Joan), Vernon Carrere (Sheri) and Eric Carrere (Christie). He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren.
