He was predeceased by: his father Charles Pershing Winder, Sr.; and his father-in-law Clifford Guidry. He is survived by: his wife Janelee Winder; his mother Grace Jean Winder; his children, Meredith Ledet (Ben), Matthew, Kathryn, Candace Benoit (Bruce), Emma, Melissa Hughes (David), Charlotte and Alexander; his sister Carol Thomas; and his mother-in-law Janelee Guidry.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to be sent to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in his honor.
