He is survived by: his wife Joann Marie Dupre Lyons; his children, Berton J. Lyons, Jr., Leslie L. Thibodaux (Craig) and Michele L. Hebert (Dwayne); his siblings, Paul (Irene), Julius, Malcolm Lyons (Sadie), Felicia "Fee" Lirette (Wilton) and Vera L. Picou; his grandchildren, Angele H. Theriot (Craig Jr.), Abbie N. Thibodaux, Julia C. Thibodaux and Luke M. Thibodaux; and his great grandchildren, Brighton R. Hermann and Braxton A. Theriot.
