He was predeceased by: his siblings, Audrey Robinson, Judy Bello, Reba Lee and James Devon Peavy; his stepsons, Tracey Dubree and Jeffery "Bubba" Hitt; and the mother of his children Debra "Debbie" Mayo.
He is survived by: his wife Lynn Peavy; his children, Randy Wayne Peavy, Jr. (Cheryl) and Brandie Peavy Foster (Pruitt); his siblings, Shelia Peavy, John "Repete" Peavy (Georgie) and Jackie Oliver Peavy (Beverly); his stepchildren, Tina Smithart, Elizabeth Higgins (Daryl) and Christopher McMurray (Chelsea); and his close friend Belinda Williams. He is also survived by grandchildren; six (great-grandchildren); many nieces and nephews.
