He was predeceased by: his parents, Bennette Darden and Belle Story Darden; his wife Rita Bodin Darden; his sons, Glenn Edward Darden and Patrick L. Darden; and his brothers, Jessie B. Darden and John "Took" Darden Sr..
He is survived by: his children, Susan Darden Deslatte (Royce), Danny Darden (Jennifer) and Anthony Darden (Nola); his grandchildren, Jessica Deslatte Darden (Toby), Jarrod Deslatte (Laurie), Russel Aucoin III, Emily Darden, Amy Darden, Toni Darden, Jake Darden (Claudia), Jamie Darden Ancona (Tony), Ben Darden (Sara), Grant Darden, Gabriella Darden Rosales (Gabriel), McKaila Darden Stafford (Brandon) and Marlena Darden; his daughters-in-law, Belinda C. Darden Ibert and Monique M. Darden; and his caregivers, Jennifer Darden, Shawana Tabor and Stephanie Verdin. He is also survived by 19 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (3041 Chitimacha Trail, Charenton, LA 70523). A rosary will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:20 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. The military honors will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 3:15 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Dan's name to a favorite veteran's charity of choice.
